I met Kyle by chance in a small, out of the way town in northern Minnesota during the summer of 2011. He was playing drums for the band I opened up for. Turned out he was from Duluth, where I was playing the following night. I asked if he wanted to share the bill with me, since he mentioned he also wrote and played his own music. He obliged, and we played together the following night.
I was blown away by his music. I think Kyle was my favorite person I shared a bill with on my entire summer tour.
